fantastic experience. Without realising, 70 minutes shows just passed like in few minutes, means I am so enjoyed and hope the show time can last longer.
After show , they arranged the actors actresses to have photos session with audience which I think was a good idea. The sunset view of strait of Malacca was nice too.

The stage setup and lightings are good. Commendable. Stage performance are so so. Synchronisation is of out of sync. There were subtitles if one of the stories are not in Bahasa and the subtitles carry some alignment and spelling issues. There are 3 MCs and each will speak 3 different languages. Same goes for the performances some are with 3 languages, so you have to wait for the flow of the stories after all languages have been translated. There are 3 stories parking building and surrounding area is a big piece of empty land. There are 2 or 3 food trucks if you want to get some food. There is a small cafeteria. The toilet is very huge and it's airconditioned.

The technical aspects of the show like lighting, music, spinning stages, and screening are truly impressive. They create a visually stunning experience that feels very modern and well-executed. Unfortunately, the storyline falls short. The narrative feels fragmented, awkward, and poorly connected from one scene to another. At times, it seems that the production focuses too heavily on showing off its technical capabilities rather than telling a coherent story.

As a Malaysian, I also feel that the story doesn’t really capture the true spirit of Melaka or the richness of Nyonya culture. The portrayal feels very surface-level, lacking the depth and authenticity that such a heritage deserves. To be honest, the smaller theatre in Penang’s Peranakan Museum did a far better job of bringing Nyonya culture to life compared to this large-scale production.

The use of three languages throughout the show, while perhaps intended to highlight Malaysia’s diversity, ends up making the performance repetitive and awkward. It might have been more effective to tell the story in one main language and provide subtitles for the rest. Similarly, the repeated scripts further weakened the storytelling.

If you’re attending purely to enjoy the impressive stage technology, then this show is worth experiencing. But if you’re paying RM78 expecting to be immersed in the cultural spirit of the Nyonya and Melaka, you may leave disappointed. In short: appearances are dazzling, but the content lacks substance.

สิ่งที่คุณอาจจะพลาดไปคือ:
* การแสดงสุดอลังการ: เป็นการแสดงวัฒนธรรม แสง สี เสียง ที่เล่าเรื่องราวประวัติศาสตร์กว่า 600 ปีของเมืองมะละกา ตั้งแต่ยุคการก่อตั้งอาณาจักร การเดินทางมาถึงของเจิ้งเหอ (ซำปอกง) ยุคอาณานิคมของโปรตุเกส ดัตช์ อังกฤษ จนถึงยุคปัจจุบัน

ดังนั้น ถ้าจะให้สรุปก็คือ... Encore Melaka ไม่ใช่สถานที่ท่องเที่ยวแบบเดินชม แต่เป็นโรงละครที่ต้องซื้อตั๋วเข้าไปชมการแสดงครับ
ภาพตึกสถาปัตยกรรมสวยๆ ที่คุณถ่ายมานั่นคือโรงละครสุดล้ำนี่เองครับ และป้าย "Straits of Melaka" ก็เป็นจุดถ่ายรูปยอดนิยมเพื่อระลึกว่าได้มาถึงช่องแคบมะละกาอันเป็นเส้นทางเดินเรือที่สำคัญในประวัติศาสตร์โลก
หากมีโอกาสครั้งหน้า หรือถ้าคืนนี้ (วันอาทิตย์ที่ 6 ก.ค.) ยังอยู่ในมะละกา ลองตรวจสอบรอบการแสดงและจองตั๋วเข้าไปชมนะครับ อาจจะเปลี่ยนความรู้สึก "ไม่เห็นมีอะไร" ให้กลายเป็นความประทับใจไปเลยก็ได้ครับ!

I really enjoyed the show! The rotating stage and moving seats were amazing and very impressive. The storytelling felt like a piece of art — and even though I’m not someone deeply into art, I still found it enjoyable. The discounted ticket price made it even more worthwhile. I’ll definitely plan to watch Show 2 next!
